Walk This Way

We are so lucky with our location, not only minutes walk from the beach, but we also have some stunningly scenic walks in the local area.

You don’t even have to be handy with a map and compass to find them. I Walk Cornwall has devised three which you can jump straight on from the campsite gate, all reasonably priced and downloaded from their App.

The first circular walk takes you through our beautiful Lanherne Valley to our historic village of St Mawgan and back. Don’t miss Lanherne Abbey, now a convent, is was historically a monastery prior to the dissolution, then the manor house and main residence to the famous Arundell family. The village also hosts a Post Office and Tea Room, a Cafe, a Public House, a playing field and playground and a Japanese Garden! Do have a chat with us about the part this route played in the civil war, we are party to some finds others aren’t!

The second route continues on from St Mawgan, through the historic Carnanton Estate woodland to the Market Town of St Columb where you can find lots of independent eateries, shops and curiosities, many listed on our App!

A third route takes a short and scenic bus ride to Porthcothan. The walk back along the South West Coast Path takes you along some of the most breathtaking views the Cornish North Coast has to offer. The land along this route was used to film scenes for the most recent BBC Poldark series. There are secret coves and even a convenient tea room half way along!

Of course, there are many more routes in the immediate vicinity which we are more than happy to help you plan, giving advice on terrain, elevation and local history.

See you soon!
