Nature on the Farm

Over the next 12 months we are planning to make big additions to the biodiversity and habitat cover throughout the farm. This spring alone, we have planted a further 100 tree and hedge saplings, which brings our three year total to over 300 new plants.

Careful consideration has to be made to the geography of our site, including soil types and drainage. To the North we have wetlands in the river valley flood plain course with a ribbon of ancient woodland immediately adjacent to the watercourse. To the South of the farm the land is much higher and subject to prevailing coastal winds. The locations and species of our planting actually take careful consideration to the success of the plant reaching maturity.
