Outdoors is our Playground

We spend a lot of our time in Cornwall outdoors obviously, but even in our ‘down time’, we are so lucky to have so many outdoor activities avaliable to us. Need some ideas to help plan your visit? Have a look at these to get you started:
Kingsurf Surf School – always popular with our guests, these well qualified and friendly instructors cater to all abilities and are a stroll away here in Mawgan Porth.

Mountain Biking and Cycling – Bring your own bikes and explore the vicinity with its’ stunning scenery and coastline, or hire a bike for the day to tackle some of our great cycle tracks a little further away. The Camel Trail is flat and great for a leisurely pedal and sightseeing. Running the route of the old railway track from Padstow to Wadebridge and then on to Bodmin and beyond. Cardinham Woods offers the Bodmin Beast track and the Lanhydrock Estate, with its own bike hire, has a selection of graded and more advanced trails, including downhill. There are also kickstart tracks for little wheels. Try Trailmunki for bike hire at Bodmin or Bridge Bike Hire at Wadebridge.

Geocaching – increasingly popular, again, from right outside there are some sneaky caches hidden along beautiful routes around the local area.
Coasteering – King Coasteer is another exhilarating activity right on our doorstep. Local instructors will show you areas of the coast never usually experienced by land. For more water-based Cornwall Outdoors ideas, check out our Blogs on Wild Sea Swims and Waves.

Horse riding – a great way to see the coastline and countryside. Both Trenance Riding Stables in Newquay and Reen Manor a little further away in Perranporth offer scenic hacks for all ages and abilities, including pub rides for those needing refreshment! Trenance offers rides along the gorgeous Gannel Estuary and Reen Manor offers rides over the historic landscape of Penhale Sands and onto the beach for a once in a lifetime experience.

Hiking/Walking – whether you are a committed hiker or a rambling ambler, IWalk Cornwall is a great App which has routes, you guessed it, from right outside the campsite. Explore some of the most beautiful coastal countryside Cornwall has to offer. See our Blog on the stunning South West Coast path right outside.

Hangloose Adventure – based at the Eden Project, Hangloose offers adrenaline-filled activities from Zip wires over the Biomes, Ariel Trekking and Giant Airbags!
Sea Fishing and Safaris – there are a number of operators offering Sea Fishing and Sea Safaris at both Newquay and Padstow harbours. Try award-winning Newquay Sea Safari and Fishing or Padstow Sealife Safaris to get closer to our marine wildlife.

Don’t forget that we want our guests to experience the perfect stay, so just let us know if you’d like us to help organise anything for you! See you soon.
