September in Cornwall
September is a bounty of joy for us after a busy summer and harvest done. Our local St Mawgan Vintage Rally takes place, lots of nearby sporting events, shows and harvest festivals (pub auctions can get quite competitive over a good home-baked loaf!). Here are just a few of the fabulous offerings which Cornwall can provide during this month:

Climate – Cornish September weather is usually good to us, extending it’s temperate conditions so we can still bathe in sunny days and slightly cooler, more comfortable nights. The sea temperature is at it’s warmest, perfect for a paddle, a swim, a surf, or just to get your toes wet and breathe in that salty air. Speaking of which…

Crowds – Cornwall is far from crowded in September. Find your own personal cove or beach, and the inner creative photographer in you. Our little towns and villages have many charming features which you can take your time to explore and savour without the worry of bumping into the number of other people you may expect during the summer months.

Hospitality – our bars, baristas and restaurants are second to none, you name it, they can offer something unforgettable to suit all palettes and budgets. No more waits for reservations. Fresh fish, high quality locally sourced produce, innovative menus, all available for alfresco appetisers, long lunches and delicious dining experiences.

Campfires – last but not least! The nights are drawing in a little, which means more time to get together around a campfire, a warming beverage, be it a Cornish hot chocolate or something a little more indulgent, some stargazing and time to totally relax and unwind. I can’t express enough about how good a campfire is for the soul… it’s our ‘thing‘ at Higher Pendeen.
So if September in Cornwall is calling you, we will look forward to seeing you soon!
